Photograph

This was the first photograph that I took that made me want to learn more.  I had recently met my husband and we were out on a schooner for a day cruise in Gloucester Harbor.  I didn't have a fancy camera, I had a throw away, waterproof camera.  The company I worked for was holding a contest for calendar pictures and I decided I liked this one enough to put it in the hat.  Low and behold I won!  It was in the calendar for a whole year.  Since then I've always dabbled but since we bought the Nikon D50.... I don't want to put it down.   I'm having so much fun and learning too!  Thanks everyone for all your comments.   Keep them coming.

  2. Wow, it's a terrific shot! It makes me feel like I am right on the boat. It must be a nice reminder not only of your early interest in photography but of your early days with your husband...

  7. That's exciting not only to win the contest but to have done it with a disposable camera. Great memories of good times.

  8. It's a great photo - and even more special because it was the start of something big! (Both husband and photography passion...)
